Forsyth Library Cards, Makerspaces & Outreach
A guide to library borrowing, makerspaces and services beyond the branch buildings.
Forsyth County
Library cards are free for eligible residents and other qualifying borrowers after identity and address verification. The county’s eligibility page also lists reciprocal borrowing counties, including Guilford. Bring photo identification and address documentation; other nonresidents may purchase a $25 annual card and must apply or renew in person.
Explore digital and borrowing resources through the library, and ask about eligible NC Cardinal materials. Makerspaces at Central, Clemmons and Paddison offer programs and open labs; equipment differs by branch. Cardholders age 18 or older may reserve up to three hours. Open labs use first-come access; check the program calendar before visiting.
Outreach includes mobile children’s learning programs and homebound services. Forsyth residents with an active card in good standing who cannot reach a branch because of transportation or a temporary or long-term condition can ask about eligibility. Community partners can request information about outreach visits. Phone: 336-703-2665, option 4 for outreach.
